William Wilberforce famously said, “You may choose to look the other way, but you can never say again that you did not know.”
Is there any more egregious evil than the taking of innocent human life? Do you want to look away? Does the picture turn your stomach? Do you feel angry? Sick? Afraid? Good. The truth is staring you right in the face. Choose not to look away.
This child felt pain unlike any thing you’ve ever experienced. She was alive when her skull was crushed and her brains were sucked out of her head. If you’ve ever wondered what evil looks like, look no further. Pro-choice? Pro-abortion? Pro-reproductive rights? If that’s your chosen ideology, you’re a murderer. You stand in direct opposition to biblical truth and the value that God places on life.
Lila Rose from Live Action suggests, “Baby girl 1 appears to be in the early 3rd trimester and has indications she may have been alive at the start of the procedure. If true means the abortionist would have committed an illegal partial-birth abortion, where a baby is partially delivered before a doctor ends her life.”

Justice is an important and clarifying lens with which to consider this unfolding event. These awful photos show, for all the world to see, that a grave evil — a great injustice — has been committed. We dare not look away. We can’t pretend like we haven’t been given ample opportunity to see just what exactly the nature of this injustice is. If we want justice to be done for both the victims here and all the unborn children in our country who suffer under the threat of a similar fate, we must be clear-eyed about what exactly it is that is being done to innocent life under the false flag of “reproductive freedom.”
John Wesley Reid, editor-in-chief for the Standing for Freedom Center, aptly summarized how wrong-footed the D.C. police’s response to the discovery has been. He wrote, “A D.C. assistant police chief said the babies appear to have been ‘aborted in accordance with D.C. law’ and ‘There doesn’t appear to be anything criminal about that — except for how they got into the house.’” Reid went on to say, “It’s horrifying that the crime they are concerned about is how the dead babies got into a house — not the fact that they were killed.”
Horrifying indeed. This entire incident is truly horrifying on every level — from the fact that these babies are allowed to be legally aborted in our nation in the first place, to the callousness of the D.C. police, more concerned about where the dead babies were found than who killed them. Both the substance and the subject of this news are shocking — and we dare not look away.

The fact that the murder of innocent life is not only accepted but also applauded in America and the world is, without a doubt, the most egregious sin we consciously and continuously participate in as a society. Can someone actually look at a fully formed murdered baby and believe that doing that – killing that child – is right? Is that possible? Is it possible that a “doctor”, who has taken an oath (supposedly) to “do no harm”, can dismember a baby in the womb, remove his or her limbs piece by piece, crush their skull, suck out their brains, then scrape out the remaining portions of the baby from the womb, dump all the pieces (hopefully leaving nothing behind) onto a metal tray to be disposed of – burned, flushed or thrown away? Romans 1 tells us that it is possible, it is happening because we exchange the truth of God for a lie, and we just keep believing the lie and believing the lie and believing the lie.
And now, the horrors of godlessness are on full display. And the enemy overplays his hand. We all know exactly what he is up to, so let us fight back. Let us fight back with everything that is in us. We know the truth. We have the truth. We know the end of the story. As so many have said before, “When Satan reminds you of your past, you remind him of his future!” He does not win. Christ has already won the war. We just need to be faithful in the battles here for a little while longer. Let us continue in the fight for babies, for children, for families, for life.
